IT was another Bobby-dazzler that graced the York Union of Golf Clubs' Pike Hills Cup played at Aldwark Manor.
Winners of the foursomes event, where each partner takes alternate shots, were Fulford GC's Bobby Elliott and Martin Pickles, whose 77 score was one ahead of three pairings locked on 78.
It was the second time in three years that Elliott had won the trophy, which was introduced into the YUGC programme when he was president in 1995.
Second on count-back was the father and son pairing of Peter and Glen Renton (Forest of Galtres) with Kirkbymoorside's Kevin Magson and Gordon Ward third and Jim Clark and Kevin Pearson (The York) fourth.
THE new lady captain at Kilnwick Percy GC is Jenny Brooks in succession to Linda Johnson. Joy Biggin is the new vice-captain of a section which will have several new events next season, including a mixed match-play competition.
Meanwhile, the winner of the day's strokeplay tournament was Linda Pink with Iona Buckle second and Margaret Handy third. Sue Hodgson submitted the best winter series stableford on 40 points.
Lee Hornsby took the lead in the men's strokeplay, off yellow tees, with a nett 66 on count-back from Kevin Beattie. Count-back also determined third place, which went to Richard Pink ahead of Kyle Mathers after both totalled 68.
ACE of clubs in the York Union Cross Trophy event played at The Oaks GC was 13-handicapper Kevin Banfield.
The Forest of Galtres GC player notched his first hole in one when he aced the 170-yard par three 11th hole at The Oaks using a four iron.
Fulford GC captain Jonathan Plaxton and Andy Curran won the first round of the annual Social Cup competition with 47 stableford points, one clear of David Leaf and Paul Lyall.
