Sue Smith, who sent out two winners at Wetherby yesterday, has good prospects of achieving an encore at Carlisle tomorrow.

The Bingley trainer, who works in tandem with her husband Harvey, the former top showjumper, has her horses in flying form, and Mister Dave's and Diceman are fancied to add their names to the scoresheet in Cumbria.

The Brick Kiln Beginners' Chase is the target for Mister Dave's, who has shown enough already to suggest this modest event should be within his compass.

Although not seen out since the end of May, he can be relied on to be fit enough first time back after a break, as were yesterday's two Wetherby winners, The Kew Tour and Mister McGoldrick.

Diceman runs in the Morgan Stanley Quilter Handicap Chase over two and a half miles.

The eight-year-old is probably at his best over this sort of distance, having failed to get home when faced with a stiff task over an extended three miles on his last start at Kelso in May.

Jonjo O'Neill could double-up at Carlisle, which was his local course before he moved from the Penrith area to Gloucestershire a couple of years ago.

O'Neill, with his team well forward, can score with Claude Greengrass in the Mary Brow Handicap Hurdle and the well-regarded newcomer Diversify in the first division of the Gossip Holme Novices' Chase.

The second division looks a good opportunity for Martin Todhunter's Provocative, tomorrow's Nap selection, to fulfill the promise he showed last season.

On the Flat at Lingfield, Lady Bear has what could be her final career start, in the Littlewoods Bet Direct Fleur De Lys Stakes.

Richard Fahey's mare, a prolific money-earner, and winner of a £100,000 race at Goodwood in late-summer, has since finished a creditable fourth in the Cambridgeshire Handicap at Newmarket.

She is due to come under the hammer at Newmarket Sales next month. In the meantime, she could well sign-off on a winning note in this £25,000 event. Robert Winston has the mount.

Tomorrow's other meeting is at Huntingdon where the classy Be Fair is fancied to record a hat-trick of wins in the Countryside Novices' Hurdle. Richard Johnson has the mount on Don Cantillon's smart five-year-old.
