AT last, common sense has prevailed and the deadly Bilbrough Gap is to close next January (Evening Press, October 29).
However belatedly, this will be welcomed by the people of North Yorkshire and anyone who uses the A64. So, three cheers to:
Selby MP John Grogan, for pressing this case in Westminster.
The Evening Press, for bringing to the attention of its readers and the likes of Mr Grogan the horrors this junction has created and the plight of those unfortunate to lose loved ones in accidents there.
Colin and Chris Sanders who have made such an effort to ensure the gaps are closed and a flyover is built, despite losing their own son at Bilbrough Top. Hopefully, their son's death will not have been in vain because the flyover will prevent other unnecessary deaths.
Our thoughts go out to those who have lost loved ones.

Lodge Moor, Sheffield.
