Sleeve: Outer cover... singer in his young and hirsute days, locks flowing; inner cover... close-up of the singer today, bald, professorial and smiling.
Sleevenotes: Charming but skimpy thoughts from the man himself, explaining this selection from albums recorded over 35 years.
Content: A generous 20, pretty much in chronological order.
High point: Let's be cheesy and say You've Got A Friend. Then again, it could be Carolina In My Mind...
Low point: None really, although the early material is the strongest.
Any glaring omissions?: Nope.
Anything new?: One exclusive new track, Bittersweet.
Justified or feeble excuse for release: People still seem to like the sweet, plaintiff early songs from a man who's been through the mill but never lost that pure voice.
Where might this end up?: In the collection of anyone who remembers that far back.
