Sleeve: Impressively blends images from their first two albums, Lost Souls and The Last Broadcast, including shadow boxer and night cityscape.
Sleevenotes: Inside sleeves are more arty-farty, using bleak, atmospheric pictures from past singles and original scribbled lyrics to the Cedar Room. Sadly, no accompanying notes.
Content: Oasis set standard for B-sides, Doves just about make the grade. The 12 tracks retain trademark moody, atmospheric style but are B-sides for a reason. But at the special price of £10, it's worth having.
High point: Northenden, acoustic gem from Pounding single; Meet At The Pier and Crunch, worthy instrumentals.
Low points: Break Me Gently is pointlessly reworked; Darker sounds like barrels being scraped.
Glaring omissions?: Should include tracks from excellent live set.
Anything new?: Bonus CD includes seven remixes of popular tracks including New York and Words.
Justified or feeble excuse for release?: A must for hardcore Doves fans, but they probably bought the singles in the first place.
Where might this end up?: It won't stray very far from the record store selling it.
