NEVER-SAY-DIE York Rovers beat Barlby Raiders on penalties in a tough York FA Senior Minor Cup tie.

Twice they looked down and out but saved themselves with last-gasp headed goals in both normal and extra time.

Barlby took the lead early in the second half and it was only on the stroke of full time that Danny Palmer's header forced extra time.

Raiders regained the lead but in the final seconds a header from Mark Masheder forced a shoot-out which Rovers won 4-3.

Pickering Town were too powerful for Selby Olympia WMC with two goals each by John Brown and Oliver Campbell and one from Matthew Bower sealing a 5-1 win. Selby's goal was hit by Dominic Welsh.

Hat-tricks were to the fore in the York FA Intermediate Minor ties.

Thomas Hurst netted three as Huntington Under-15s defeated Copmanthorpe 'B' U15s 3-0.

Richard Stevenson got all his side's goals as Pickering Town U14s defeated Real Cliffe U14s 3-1.

Real Cliffe U15s went one better as trebles by Thomas Hogg and Paul Smales gave them a 6-0 win over Copmanthorpe 'A' U15s.

Easingwold Town 'A' pulled off an amazing 4-3 York FA Junior Minor Cup victory over Bishopthorpe White Rose - despite having only eight players at the final whistle.

They could only field nine players at the start and Bishopthorpe took advantage, Tom Norton lobbing the opener.

Easingwold equalised through Ben Stirk but a long-range effort by Norton and a goal from Luke Kilburn made it 3-1. Worse was to follow for Easingwold as they were reduced to eight players following a sending-off, but a Herculean effort by the rest of their team produced goals for Richard Downey (2) and Simon Brown to clinch an incredible victory.

Heworth goalkeeper Calvin Lawson made a vital penalty save as his team beat New Earswick 7-6 in a spot-kick shoot-out after they finished 5-5 after extra time.

Heworth goals came from Jack Sullivan (2), Stephen Clarke, Lawrence Longworth and Jack Blackmoor as the sides shared ten goals in normal time. Incredibly there were no further goals in extra time.

An angled shot from Jamie Crunwell set York RI on their way to a comfortable 4-0 win over Barlby Raiders in the York FA Acaster Steel Cup.

David Smith, Shaun Munday and an own goal completed the scoring.

North Duffield could only muster nine players for their tie against Hamilton Panthers 'A', but put up a great performance, only going down to second half goals scored from Brett Bulmer and Adam McMahone.

Declan Malarkey put Heworth in front over Thorpe United from close range. Early in the second half Thorpe levelled but Marlarkey restored Heworth's lead.

Thorpe pushed for an equaliser in a frantic finish in which they hit the bar but Heworth held on.

Sweeper turned striker, Alexander Blair, hit a hat-trick as Easingwold defeated Dunnington 5-1 with the other Easingwold goals coming from Ben Ryder and George Elliott.
