IN response to the letter about the reluctance of taxi firms to accept tokens (October 23), I wish to say, on behalf of Ebor Taxis, that we willingly accept tokens. We welcome them as a form of payment and we also allow pensioners a ten per cent discount.
We consider pensioners an important part of our business and we try to help them however we can. Our drivers are instructed to offer every assistance possible in making access to our vehicles easy and we offer help to and from premises when needed.
Any driver not conforming to these standards, if reported, would be severely reprimanded. Let me assure the public, especially pensioners, that some firms do care and we try to show our greatest respect to our senior citizens.
