THE protest at Asda was just the start for farmers campaigning to get a fair price for the food they produce.
The supermarkets are the first choice because they are high profile, very profitable and able to dictate how much farmers are paid.
The protests will continue. Results are urgently needed to stop more being forced out of farming.
Farmers only receive a fraction of the final price of food so a rise for them has little effect on the end price to the consumer.
