SHOCK of the day in the second round of York FA Saturday Junior Cup was cup holders Dringhouses Reserves being knocked out 3-2 at St John College Reserves.
An Andy Wilson penalty midway through the second half and then a Danny Clemence goal rounding off a great team move gave Tockwith a 2-0 win at home to Poppleton.
There was no joy either for Poppleton Reserves, who went out 2-0 at Wilberfoss Reserves, whose scorers were Adam Bagley and Murray Ogle.
Barmby Moor were made to fight all the way for their 2-1 win in at home to RJF Homes Beckett League side Duncombe Park, both goals scored by Ty Hartwig.
Haxby United Reserves completed a double cup success for the club with a 3-1 win at home to Bishopthorpe United Reserves. Mike Taylor netted two and Jason Smith one.
Dunnington Reserves won 3-0 at home to Huntington Reserves. Garry Horwell scored in the first half, Nick Robinson and John Wormald after the interval.
Heworth won 2-0 at home to Malton Bacon Factory Reserves, both goals coming in the second half. Nicky Outram sent Paul Locker away to open the scoring and Simon Gilroy pounced on to a clearance late on for the second.
New Earswick Reserves came from 2-0 down and having a player sent off in the second half to take the tie into extra time and then beat visitors Hemingbrough 4-3 on penalties.
Danny Smith and Dave Young put Hemingbrough two up. Just before half-time Arthur Tegemeier pulled a goal back for New Earswick and five minutes into the second half the same player equalised after latching on to a through ball.
New Earswick were reduced to ten men when Derek Grant was dismissed for violent conduct.
Both sides missed chances to score the winner in extra time but it went to penalties, New Earswick winning after their 'keeper Perry Cooper made a great save.
York RI won 4-0 at Tockwith Reserves with two goals from Nick Hutchinson and one each from Lee Goddard and Luke Richardson.
Goals by Andrew Whitham, Matt Gomm, Shaun Lyons and Lee Lyons gave Strensall a 4-1 win at Fulford United Reserves.
Luke Dove netted five times as Elvington won 6-0 at home to Wigginton Black Horse Reserves, all the goals coming in the second half. Tom Hovington also scored.
Ian Topping hit a hat-trick as Osbaldwick Reserves won 5-2 at home to Harrogate League side Marton-cum-Grafton. Phil Grayson and Peter Elcock were Osbaldwick's other marksmen.
