YORK City were forced to borrow a white change strip belonging to Saturday's hosts Scunthorpe after referee Eddie Evans decided City's red kit could clash with Scunthorpe's claret shirts.
City's second choice sky-blue strip could also have clashed with United's home shirt, which had blue sleeves.
Said Brass: "When you held them together a clash was possible I suppose, particularly in a dark light and rain.
"We had to accept his decision and maybe next time away from home we will be changing again."
