JULIAN Cole's apologetic protest and tongue-in-cheek slap on the wrist for the rowdy students of York St John (October 16) is typical of the indulgent attitude which, over the years, has allowed the present level of anti-social behaviour to develop.
Loutish behaviour by the "educated" is just as unacceptable as when it is practised by lesser mortals.
If these students are to be the future teachers and role models to the young, now is the time for Dianne Willcocks to descend from her remote dwelling and back the Government proposal to reclaim the streets from the yobs by putting her own flock in order - as long as it doesn't upset them, of course.
