TO prove there is nothing as mad as a hatter, Jane Bom-Bane unveils her Greatest Hats at The Shed, Brawby Village Hall, near Malton, on October 25.
Bom-Bane performs original songs and poems accompanied by funky harmoniums and mechanical hats.
Shed promoter Simon Thackray says: "Jane has worked with Pere Ubu's David Thomas, Linda Thompson and caricaturist Ralph Steadman, and she is fantastic value, a truly original entertainer. There's a magical quality to her performance, with her revolving goldfish bowls, careering trains and her latest House hat with a surprise in every room."
The 8pm bill also features multi-instrumentalist Nick Pynn in his Music From Hotel Rooms, Forests and Submarines show, a solo performance of otherworldly original compositions and travel tales written while on tour with Rich Hall, B*witched, Arthur Brown and Steve Harley.
Pynn creates an acoustic music-box on the fiddle, dulcimer, guitar and mandocello, and his act also incorporates live sampling of wine glasses and playing cards and contributions from invisible guests.
"Last Saturday, we had a great start to the season when Latino del Norte went down a storm. It was packed out, standing-ovation stuff," says Simon. "Now we have Jane and her hats."
Tickets cost £1 on 01653 668494.
