After last season, the best for about nine years, York City sacked manager Terry Dolan, who they are still having to pay.

Not bad for a club who are in financial difficulty. Where is the sense in that?

This season somehow we topped Division Three after four matches with a maximum 12 points.

However, what have we done since? City have had the odd victory by one goal (apart from Cambridge United) and then just to top it all were beaten by Halifax Town in a virtually irrelevant cup competition.

I know these results happen but when will the people at the Evening Press realise that City are just only an average team.

Their sights were set on reaching the Millennium Stadium in the LDV Vans competition against Halifax. Please don't raise the hopes of the York public by stating the next victory will be a turning point.

For a club in the top half we still manage to have a negative goal difference. When was the last time we won a League match by three clear goals?
