YORK has slipped into a dreadful state of chaos when it comes to traffic (mis) management.
There are no clever answers to the problems the city faces in the 21st century, only simple ones; remove all congestion-causing speed humps (they also delay emergency services vehicles), remove all empty bus lanes, remove all dangerous chicanes, stop reducing all speed limits to not much more than a crawl, spend a little more of the many millions paid by motorists in road taxes and dual the A1237. Only then will York move and prosper once again.
