BARRY Helstrip, of the Ebor team, won York and District Snooker Association's Cueball Club-sponsored individual handicap knockout competition.
He beat 13-year-old Steve Gregson 2-0 in the final.
Phil Anderson and Pete Dawson won the pairs handicap knockout competition, sponsored by Stonebow Snooker Club. They beat John Dowd and Jordan Worobec 2-0 in the final.
Steve Gregson dominated the junior handicap competitions. He won the first division, sponsored by ACE 4 Computers, the Ian Harrison junior individual knockout competition and the highest break prize, sponsored by P D Plastics, with a 67 break.
The junior division two title was won by Chris Dawson by one point from Matthew Smith. Martin Wilson made the highest break, with 27.
Ebor won York and District Summer Handicap League Cueball division one with 33 points, one point ahead of Tramways. Stonebow won division two, sponsored by In the Around the Clock Glazing, with 38 points.
Ebor beat Groves in the summer league team knockout final, sponsored by Castle Snooker Club.
James Hirst beat John Purt 51-41 in the first frame and Phil Anderson beat Mark Dodds 67-34 in the second frame to put Ebor 2-0 ahead. Paul Powell took the last frame for Groves, beating Tim Hart 70-58.
All trophies and prizes will be presented on Saturday, October 25, at the Cueball Club. There is also a disco and buffet. Tickets are £5 each and are on sale at the Cueball Club, phone 01904 415181, or from the association's secretary Phil Anderson on 01904 422527.
Entries are being taken for this winter's Junior League. It is open to any players under 18 years of age. All players will receive a handicap based on their ability. Those interested should contact the secretary or Gary Penrose at the Cueball Club.
Entry forms are now available for the Singles and Pairs Handicap knockout competitions from the association's secretary or from the Cueball Club
The next Heworth Minibus monthly knockout competition at the Cueball Club will be on Wednesday, October 29 (7.15pm). Entry costs £5.
The association's next monthly meeting will be on Tuesday, November 4, (7.30pm) at the Cueball Club.
