HOW much did it cost the council to replace all the glass in the useless three bus shelters on Hull Road?
They look lovely again but are still not shelters as they are supposed to be.
What's lacking on the York council is common sense. Included among the cutbacks won't be their wages and expenses or their nice pensions at the end.
Go on, install a few more speed bumps, lads and lasses, and ruin a few more cars and buses. Put the car parking fees up, hit the motorist - they will just go to Clifton Moor or Monks Cross.
The only people who will suffer are the tourists - we residents have more sense.
God alone knows what the council spends my £1,000-plus on.
