Kieren Fallon, who has been sidelined because of a suspension during the last four days, can return to action in a blaze of glory on Champions' Day at Newmarket tomorrow.
Fallon teams-up with Russian Rhythm in the £400,000 Emirates Airline Champion Stakes and can steer Sir Michael Stoute's top-notch filly to her fourth win from five starts this season.
Triumphant in the 1,000 Guineas on this course on her seasonal bow, Russian Rhythm went on to complete a hat-trick of Group 1 wins in the Coronation and Nassau Stakes before coming up short against Falbrav in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot last time.
There was, though, no disgrace in that defeat and Russian Rhythm is fancied to get back on top tomorrow over an extra two furlongs, in what promises to be a crackerjack of a race.
Also facing the starter is Alamshar, winner of the Irish Derby and the King George V1 and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes this season, and the admirable Nayef, winner of this race two years ago.
Although below-par when third to Falbrav in the International at York, Nayef is reported to have thrived during his two-month break and is well fancied to end his career - he goes to stud afterwards - on a high note.
It may prove, however, that he is forced to play a supporting role to Russian Rhythm.
The £230,000 Darley Dewhurst Stakes brings together the cream of the juvenile crop, including Three Valleys, impressive winner of the Middle Park Stakes here two weeks ago.
Tomorrow's extra furlong is not expected to inconvenience Roger Charlton's top-flight colt, who probably has most to fear from Snow Ridge, Imperial Stride and the Mark Johnston-trained Duke Of Venice, a supplementary entry for this race at a cost of £24,000.
The £125,000 Tote Cesarewitch offers Direct Bearing the chance to atone for last year's narrow defeat by Miss Fara.
Dermot Weld's charge was worn down only in the final strides that day and those connected with the horse seemed to feel that he would have won had he not been left in front too soon.
Direct Bearing was my Nap 12 months ago and he gets my vote once again.
North Yorkshire racegoers can look forward to a bumper programme at Catterick, where Twice Upon A Time has excellent prospects in the Parade Ring Bar Handicap.
Tony Culhane again has the mount on Bryan Smart's sprinter, following his dynamic effort to get the four-year-old home by a whisker at York last Friday.
