I AGREE with Dr Campbell (Letters, October 13) that tourists are seen to be more important than residents.
Drunks are being moved on from city centre areas so they are not in view of visitors to York. They are being relocated in residential areas in a "street drinkers house in Heworth" ('Building confidence is all in a day's work, August 29').
The property in question is a semi-detached house in Burnholme Avenue which is being acquired under the York Council of Churches Arc Light Project to house people with serious drink problems. Arc Light's aims and objectives are commendable. However, Burnholme Avenue, which is within easy reach of three schools, is the wrong type of property in the wrong location.
So residents beware, if this gets the approval of the city planners, you could find such people living next door to you.
