A GIANT bear and a pantomime dame have joined forces to help two children's charities.
The unusual pair, which included well-known York panto star Berwick Kaler, launched the Darcy Bear charity appeal at Browns department store in York. The store has chosen to raise money for Martin House children's hospice and the NSPCC through the campaign.
Staff hope to reach a target of £1,200.
Various events, including a children's colouring competition, will take place throughout both the York and Helmsley stores. The shops are selling Darcy bears, and for each teddy sold, £1 will be donated to the charities.
Anyone wanting information on the colouring competition should call into the store.
