YORK City Knights are closing in on the signature of former Huddersfield Giants centre Chris Langley.
New Knights coach Richard Agar worked with Langley at Featherstone last season and is hoping to include him in his side again at Huntington Stadium next season.
Knights chief executive Steve Ferres said: "We are in talks with Chris Langley and are very hopeful he will come on board. But there are other clubs looking at him and he's still considering his options."
Langley played for Featherstone last season after being released by Huddersfield, having helped the Giants clinch promotion back to the Super League.
He made 22 appearances and scored 12 tries in that successful 2001/2002 campaign but did not appear in the Grand Final-winning team and moved on to the Post Office Road Ground.
Langley made his Giants debut in the Super League at Hull in 2000 and went on to play 17 top-flight games, contributing three tries before the club were relegated.
He joined Huddesfield via a loan spell at Featherstone after starting out on Bradford Bulls' academy books and can also play as a winger.
Knights Supporters Club are holding their presentation evening at Huntington Stadium tonight (7.30pm).
