Norwich Union's York-based press office has been voted by journalists as the best in the personal finance industry.
The accolade was announced by TV personality Richard Whiteley at the Association of British Insurers (ABI) media awards at London's Royal Lancaster Hotel.
James Evans, head of media relations in Norwich Union Life's Wellington Row HQ on the Ouse, received the award on behalf of his team.
He said: "As a press office we are hugely proud of this award and it recognises the immense amount of work Norwich Union has done to drive better standards of communications and transparency in the insurance industry.
"This is a great honour for the York office, where the life media relations team is based."
Norwich Union was praised for its excellent access for journalists to senior people in the business, for putting its head above the parapet and talking about issues head-on, and for the excellent service it offers for journalists.
