Pocklington gave a below-par performance but it was still good enough to defeat Wath-on-Dearne 43-11 at Percy Road.
The hosts have become used to running in big scores in recent weeks, but they were slow to get into their stride on Saturday and had to rely on three Kevin Bowling penalties to one by Wath to take an early lead.
Skiper Matt Atkinson, playing out of position in the second row, again gave his side a good lead when he dived over in the 20th minute, Bowling converting.
Pocklington's best attack of the day ended with them having a touchdown over-ruled, but it hardly mattered as from the scrum a missed move sent in teenage winger Fergus Purtill.
Atkinson then finished a 60-yard move by dummying under the posts for Bowling to add the extras, and with Wath kicking a second penalty Pocklington were well placed at 20-6 at the half-time break.
But in the second half Pocklington again mixed brief moments of clinical finishing with long periods of sloppy approach play.
Purtill went over for his second try and flanker Steve Wilcock twice blasted over from line-outs, but Pocklington passed up on several more scoring chances through dropped passes and wrong options, and then a comedy of errors late on gave Wath a consolation try to complete the scoring.
