YORK City's youth team are still searching for their first win of the season but gave a much improved display when they lost 3-1 at Preston North End in the first round of the Youth Alliance League Cup.
First year trainee Michael Staley scored what proved only a consolation for City but assistant youth coach Brian Neaves insisted the youngsters played some of their best football of the season.
