FOLLOWING many recent comments in the Press about fireworks, here is what happened to my daughter. Five years ago she was seriously injured from a stray firework and now the sound of fireworks terrifies her and us.
Every year, from about October 1, we have to endure the sound of fireworks being set off throughout York. Why?
When will the police, council and general public put an end to this? Surely the sale of fireworks can be limited. Each year we read and hear about the most horrific injuries caused by fireworks yet we still have to put up with these 'idiots' spoiling what should be a fun and exciting time for all?
Believe me, if these people saw the damage first hand, as we had to do, maybe they would think twice.
