MALTON and Norton golfer Simon Dyson shot a second round 66 to make the cut at the Dutch Open.
Dyson went in today's third round on five-under par after firing a 69 on the first day.
Elsewhere, it was a Toby cup rather than Toby jug which graced the Kilnwick Percy GC match-play championship. The final produced a close tussle between five-handicapper Toby Gowthorpe and Andy Kendall (12).
Both players were level coming to the final hole where Gowthorpe prevailed to be crowned Kilnwick's match-play champion for 2003.
In the October medal, the division one honour went to Peter Williamson, ahead of second-placed Mark Gatenby and Eric Sologub in third after all three tied on nett 67.
The division two winner was David Kilford, whose nett 64 ensured he was the overall medal winner.
The ladies' event was won by Carol Kilford with a two-under-par nett 70, one shot better off than Sue Hodgson and Linda Pink, the latter nudged into third place on count-back.
The qualifier was led by Margaret Handy with Teresa Annetts second and Anne McMillan third.
