LEGENDARY England goalkeeper Gordon Banks was among the stars at a charity auction which raised nearly £11,000 for a York school.
More than 350 people packed into the Voltigeur Suite at York Racecourse for the event organised by Manor School, which is making a bid to become a performing arts school.
Items under the hammer included a book signed by David Beckham, a cricket bat signed by Ian Botham, and an Arsenal shirt signed by French winger Robert Pires. Special guests included England's World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks and British Lion John Bentley. Saxophonist Snake Davis, who has played with Paul McCartney, jammed with the school.
Organiser Dave Crane said: "To raise that amount of money was outstanding. It will go a long way to reaching our goal."
