YORK City boss Chris Brass is promising a dramatic shake-up of his stuttering Minstermen next week.
Win, lose or draw against Cambridge United today, the City chief is looking to draft in a number of new recruits at Bootham Crescent.
Just one win and four goals from seven outings has Brass believing the time is ripe to bolster his options with three or more new faces targeted.
"We are constantly on the look-out but one or two things could happen next week and we just need other clubs to play ball," Brass revealed to the Evening Press.
"I just think the time is right to look at bringing in a number of loanees.
"It is around this time of the season when players start to have a dip in form while some will need a rest.
"I think we could do with freshening up and it will give me more options and it will also ask a few questions of the players I already have."
Brass refused to reveal his targets but a left-sided player is sure to be a priority.
Dave Merris has been one of City's brightest performers this season and has seemingly made the left wing-back position his own.
However, City have no real cover should Merris pick up an injury or need a rest.
City have already missed out on one possible loan target, Sunderland striker Chris Brown.
The highly-rated youngster, who was known to interest the Minstermen at the beginning of the season, has joined City's basement rivals Doncaster Rovers on a month's loan.
Meanwhile, the Evening Press is handing supporters their first chance to grill Brass since his appointment to the Bootham Crescent hot-seat.
Brass has agreed to take part in an on-line question and answer session with fans next Wednesday, October 7.
The City chief will head to our Walmgate offices straight after the final whistle of the reserve clash between City and Lincoln at Bootham Crescent.
Although there will be an opportunity to answer questions on the day, supporters are asked to submit their questions in advance with Brass answering the posers on a first-come, first-served basis.
The session will run from around 4pm until 6pm.
"I'm looking forward to answering the fans' questions and I won't shy away from anything," said the City boss.
Questions should be e-mailed to dave.stanford@ycp.co.uk via the above link.
Senders MUST include their full-name and postal address, although a house number or house name is not required.
