TONI Smallwood checked on 102 (triple 20, 10, double 16) for 18 and partnered Eileen White to win the decider for Leeman in their York John Smith's Ladies League division one clash at Phoenix.

Cueball 'B' secured the division one title with a resounding win at Independent, who put up a stout display, but their finishing letting them down. Angie Hields included 140, 100 for 21 and a maximum in the pairs. Tracey Farmeary (two 100s) and Carole Pipes (78) closed both for 23.

Roz Kerr hit three 100s for 24 and Michelle Britton closed on 115 (20, treble and double 19) for Cygnet 'C' against Cueball 'C', whose Tina Platt and the Jean Elliott-Sue Turpin pairing prevented the rout.

Cygnet 'A' captain Dawn Exton led from the front to overcome a depleted Slipper 6-3, while Jan Wilberham-Jacqui Richford secured a last gasp 5-4 victory against Flag.

Slip cleaned up in the pairs at Severus to secure the division two title with excellent scoring from Gill Warriner. Dringhouses hold on to second place despite losing out 7-2 to Clifton.

Sun's last pairing Chris and Sally Swales saw them home 5-4 against Shepherd 'A' as did Blacksmiths' Karen Braithwaite-Dorothy Bruce against Cygnet 'B'.

Jubilee took second spot in division three, Mavis Irvin-Sylvia Keenan securing their win despite Cath Roe winning a pairs single-handedly for Burton Club.

Champions Tang Hall were toppled by Mount 'B' whose Dot Sellers started their victory canter. Carol Stone-Suzanne Wentworth won the decider for Puss as they creamed Leeman 'A'.

Mitre had their match sewn up against Shepherd within the pairs as Stella Barker was the club side's only singles success. Vaults hit back from a 4-2 deficit against Britannia to win all the pairs and the match 5-4.

Julie Brownlee hit a maximum and Kim Simpson shot out with a splendid 151 as Old Ebor showed their division four supremacy against Acomb, whose Rosie Archer was the only player to trouble the scorers.

Woodman secured the runners-up spot by chopping down Mount 'A' 6-3. Mount's Debbie Holmes won a lone hand pairs game, while Barbara Russell-Sharon Rishworth secured the match for Leeman 'C' before Cueball's Audrey Carling included a 95 out shot.

Competition semi-finals are being held tonight at Dringhouses Sports and Social Club, at 7.45pm.

Cygnet 'A' are defending their captain and vice captain title against teams from Slipper, Cygnet 'B' and Independent, while Roz Kerr, Julie Coyle and Michelle Britton are out to defend their triples crown. Hoping to snatch it away are triples from Cygnet 'B', Cygnet 'A' and Clifton 'B'.

Representatives from Flag, Cygnet 'B', Cueball 'B' and Cygnet 'A' are involved in the pairs semis, and the four players in the individual semis are Sue Lowery (Cygnet 'C'), Jo Hodges (Clifton), Anita Adams (Slipper) and Angie Hields (Cue Ball 'B').

Mark Hartley gamed in a superb 15 darts in Cygnet 'B' team's York John Smith's Mixed League duel with Cueball. Billy Broadhead included a maximum, but Cueball moved joint top with a 7-2 win.

Barry Noble's 134 finish for 20 inspired Slipper 'B' to a 6-3 victory at bottom-placed Vaults, while Martin Waddington-Kelly Lofthouse partnership guided Leeman 'A' to the win at Slipper 'A'.

Pete Holland and John Miller starred in Cygnet 'C's win against Beeswing, while Huntington outgunned Leeman 'B'.
