A VERY different demonstration hit York this weekend. The Smokey Bears Picnic was supposed to be an orchestrated rebellion against Britain's confused drug laws.
But anyone who took to Museum Gardens hoping to inhale the whiff of revolution - or much of anything else - will have been disappointed. Only a few folk rolled up to roll up. The establishment remains unrocked.
Pro-cannabis campaigners will need to do better than this if their ambitions are not to go up in smoke. They should send a rallying cry to supporters: tune in, chill out, turn up.
