A GROUP of African musicians have arrived in York for a week-long tour of the city.
The Accra and Swedru Songsters are part of the Salvation Army in Ghana and arrived in the city on Thursday. They are taking part in a praise concert at the Salvation Army Citadel, in Gillygate, this evening and on Wednesday.
Major Lillian Westlake, who is joint minister with her husband, Paul , said the aim of the visit was for the group to meet people and see the city.
She said the visit was also to allow the group, made up of 12 men and two women, to say thank you for the work done by the Salvation Army at a rehabilitation centre in Ghana.
