YORK City said au-revoir but not goodbye to loyal servant Doug Gill last Saturday.
Gill, 75, from Huntington, a coach with City's esteemed Centre of Excellence for some 17 years, has finally hung up his boots.
However, Gill, who coached predominantly the club's under-nines and under-10s in recent seasons, is not cutting his ties with the Minstermen completely.
After a rest, he is set to do some scouting for City, looking to unearth the club's next generation of stars.
As a gesture of thanks for his efforts, the club presented Gill with a shooting-stick, which he will be able to put to use as he searches for fresh talent.
Gill is pictured left, receiving his shooting stick from City director Sophie McGill.
