JET-HEELED winger Rob Kama is pencilled in to return to action with York RUFC tomorrow after his summer action with York City Knights RLFC.

Providing he has recovered from a shoulder injury and gets clearance from the Knights to play, the Fijian should be ready to face Middlesbrough in North East Two at Acklam Park tomorrow.

Coach Andy Gair has reshaped the York back division following last week's heavy Intermediate Cup defeat against Driffield at Kelleythorpe.

Nathan McBride is the only member from the backs that retains his place for the visit to joint table toppers Middlesborough.

The Teesside outfit have begun their campaign with two wins and York face their sternest task of the season to date with McBride joining Sean Bass in the centre for the first time in a league match.

With Mike Ford unavailable, Nick Taylor moves from the wing to full-back. Chris McDonald is on the other wing with James Arkle and Ben Quick replacing last week's half-back combination of David Bell and Craig Ventress.

Bell was a last-minute replacement at No 9 for the injured Russell Venter last week, but Gair has gone for the sniping skills of Arkle to combat Middlesbrough's lively scrum-half Pete Wright.

Gair watched Middlesbrough scrape home at Malton and Norton in the Intermediate Cup last week and is expecting a tough encounter tomorrow.

"They have a very big pack which, although it is strong, is not all that mobile and we may be able to exploit that," said Gair.

Middlesbrough conceded several penalties at The Gannock with forwards coming in the side of rucks and mauls, so believes the kicking of Quick could be a crucial factor in the outcome.

The York pack has been retained with changes being due to rotation in players between the bench and the starting line up.

Malton and Norton, who went close to pulling off a cup upset against Boro, welcome back inspirational skipper Chris Creber at Dinnington in Yorkshire One.

The Aussie stand-off has recovered from a hamstring strain and replaces David Webster, who moves to full-back in place of Robin Tate.

Selby make several positional changes for their Yorkshire One home game against Old Brodlieans.

Hamish Burns starts at full-back after fully recovering from a head injury with David Batty switching to the wing to replace Tony Godfrey, who is on the bench.

John Webster has failed to recover from a shoulder injury sustained at Dinnington last week so Toby Pemberton switches from centre to replace him at stand-off.

Although selected, Jason Cicero must be considered as a doubt with a troublesome ankle injury. Rob Taylor starts at No 8 in place of Jamie Pocklington, who is among the replacements.

Sam Longthorpe, after well over a year out with shoulder problems, is also on the bench alongside Godfrey and Pocklington.

Matt Atkinson, who has missed the start of the season with a rib injury, is fit to lead Pocklington in their Yorkshire Three game against Leeds Corinthians at Percy Road.

Yorkshire Under-20s stand-off Henry Mitchell also returns to the side after holiday, but will soon be heading back to Newcastle University.

It is the first league game between the two sides and a big crowd is expected as a vice-presidents and ex-player lunch is being held at 12.30pm before the match.

Pock's Yorkshire Three rivals, York RI, entertain Thornesians at New Lane.

Harrogate head to Webb Ellis Road to tackle Rugby in National Two anxious to improve on their last away trip.

Ralph Zoing's side opened the season with a 21-17 defeat at Sedgley Park but will be keen to build on last week's 39-13 home thumping of Stourbridge.
