YORK City Ladies continued their fine start to the season by beating Morley Spurs 4-2 in the Yorkshire and Humberside League premier division.
Louise Ross headed City Ladies in front after 10 minutes and Kelly Chesterton doubled the advantage from the penalty spot.
Morley pulled a goal back but player of the match Charlie Woodward made it 3-1 and Ross headed her second goal near the end.
Morley grabbed a consolation effort in the dying seconds but City Ladies will take on Grimsby Town at Bootham Crescent on Sunday in good spirits.
City Ladies reserves were sent tumbling out of the Yorkshire Cup when they were beaten 5-0 at Caistor.
The margin of defeat could have been bigger but for the efforts of goalkeeper Laura Fortune.
