THE matter of affordable York homes still needs to be addressed.
It's time first-time buyers petitioned Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott.
As I have stated in letters some time ago, the few acres in my ownership, albeit in the green belt on Murton Way at Osbaldwick, have all the necessary amenities close by and would, subject to planning legislation being slightly amended, be ideal to supply up to 60 affordable homes from say £85,000 per property.
I don't know many landowners who, even subject to planning, would sell at a low affordable price to help others who need these opportunities.
Let's stop standing still on the green belt issue. Let's help young people to get the start they need.
