York Acorn Ladies rugby league stars Bev Langan and Nicola Parry have flown out with the Great Britain squad to New Zealand for the upcoming World Series.
As previously revealed by the Evening Press, the duo have been selected for the 25-strong GB squad for what is effectively the women's World Cup.
Nine countries are taking part starting out in three groups, with the Lionesses, who were runners-up in the previous World Series, in the same group as Tonga and Samoa. Six sides progress to the second group stage, with the top four going on to contest the knock-out semi-finals.
Hosts New Zealand are favourites to retain the Cup, with Britain and Australia also up there.
York Acorn lost 56-24 at Hillside in division one of their ladies league.
