FORMER Manchester City striker Gary Browne was named in the York City reserve team squad to face Notts County at Meadow Lane today (2pm).
It will be the Northern Ireland Under-21 international's second appearance for the Minstermen's second string as he looks to impress and earn a permanent deal at Bootham Crescent.
Fellow trialist and former Middlesbrough centre-half Andy Kelly was also included in the squad.
Defender Chris Smith and midfielder Christian Fox were also named as the duo both strive for match fitness following lengthy spells on the sidelines.
City reserves, from: Porter, Law, Davies, Fox, Smith, Kelly, Downes, Brakcstone, Browne, Arthur, Stewart, Coad, Reid, Staley, Ashcroft, Lyons, Edmondson.
Former York City goalkeeper Dean Kiely was Charlton Athletic's penalty shoot-out hero at the end of last night's titanic Carling Cup clash against second division Luton.
Kiely's penalty save clinched an 8-7 victory for the Premiership club on spot kicks after the scores had finished 4-4 at the end of extra-time.
