A North Yorkshire design and marketing agency is taking some credit for helping its client to win a £90 million contract to maintain major roads.
Aspect Design & Marketing, of Harrogate, worked with construction consultants A-one on the bid to manage and maintain motorways and trunk roads in the north east of England. The tender was for Area 14 - comprising all motorways and most trunk roads east of the Pennines from Dishforth in North Yorkshire to the Scottish border.
A-one was formed in a joint venture between Halcrow Group Ltd and Colas Ltd. It was included on a shortlist of five contenders when it approached Aspect to work on the bid documentation.
Over several weeks, the A-one and Aspect teams worked closely together from one office to produce a high-quality printed proposal. The proposal was considered so important that it was given presidential treatment; and delivered by car and motorbike convoy to the Highways Agency.
