HEMINGBROUGH and Amotherby & Swinton provided the shocks in the first round of the Reserve League Cup.
League new boys Amotherby & Swinton travelled to Pocklington and pulled off a shock 2-1 win with goals from Matty Taggert and Laurence Parkinson. Aidie Morrell pulled one back for Pock but Amotherby held on for a famous win.
Bishopthorpe conceded home advantage, with their first team also drawn at home in cup action, and travelled to Hemingbrough where they found themselves 3-0 down by half-time thanks to a Tom Caldwell penalty and strikes from Lee Young and Mike Young. They never recovered, leaving Hemingbrough to go through to face Nestl Rowntree, whose Mick Burdett netted a hat-tick in their 3-1 win at Poppleton. Charlie Jackson was on target for Poppleton.
Easingwold beat Wigginton Grasshoppers 3-0 with goals by Mike Smith (2) and Lee Brimicombe.
St John's College enjoyed a 4-0 win at Norton United with goals by Cy Connell (3) and Paul Thompson.
Wilberfoss enjoyed an eleven goal romp at the expense of York Railway Institute thanks to Damien Holden (5), John Hardcastle (2) Adam Bageley (2), Lee Wiper and George Penrose.
Kartiers were also high scorers at LNER Builders when a three-goal burst just after half time knocked the stuffing out of the home side who crashed 12-1, Craig Dinsdale scoring their consolation.
Two goals from Jamie Miller saw Old Malton safely through against Heslington and goals from Jamie Calvert (2) and Neil Martin gave Dunnington victory over South Bank.
Fulford's Steve Dunn hit a first half hat-trick to demoralise White Horse and he added a fourth in the second-half as they went through 4-0.
