Dunnington enjoyed their biggest win of the season as they overcame Wigginton Grasshoppers 5-1 in the premier division of the Leeper Hare York Football League.
Grasshoppers missed a great chance to open the scoring early in the game when the speedy Dean Kilbride broke clear but the Dunnington 'keeper dived at his feet to deny him.
From then on, Dunnington took control and went two up with goals from Andy Rose and Ben Small.
Kilbride managed to revive his team's moral just before half time when he broke clear again and reduced the arrears but the revival was short lived as Rose bagged his second within five minutes of the restart and further goals from Robbie Hart and Chris Burgess completed the victory.
Huntington also managed a big score at home to Old Malton, winning 6-1.
Graham MacDonald set them on their way with a goal as early as the fourth minute and went on to complete a hat-trick. Paul Downes netted two and Jack Wilson struck with a 20-yard free kick. Dave Bradshaw's penalty was Malton's only consolation.
Barmby Moor and Easingwold managed comfortable wins in the opening round of Division Two games.
Goals from Colin Peach (2), Richard Allison and Phil Goddard saw Barmby home 4-1 against Ouseburn United.
Easingwold scored all the goals in their 5-1 win at Huby. John Lockley, Paul Ellerker, Dave Hardy, Tim Jackson and Adam Graves netted and Huby's only consolation came from an own goal.
Poppleton and Stillington drew 0-0 and Heslington and Fulford shared four goals. Matt Birkill and Simon Musgrave netted for Heslington with James Stewart and Gary Ratcliffe replying for Fulford.
Newly promoted Wilberfoss won 4-2 at neighbours Elvington Harriers with goals from Ollie Newby (2), Sean Hodgson added another and an own goal by Paul Culkin. Ray Moulds struck with a 25-yard volley in the first half for the Harriers and Tom Hovington netted their other goal.
A goal in each half from Harry Jackson saw Hemingbrough to their first Division Three win at the expense of Wheldrake.
Strensall beat LNER Builders 4-1 with two first-half goals from Chris Graham followed by further strikes from Mick Pipe and Nigel Lyle. Tudor Carrington managed a response for Builders.
Amotherby also enjoyed opening day success at Sheriff Hutton as Steve Baxter and Nick Robinson netted midway through the first half. Simon Roy managed to pull one back for Sheriff Hutton in the second-half but Simon Wall restored Amotherby's two-goal cushion.
York Railway Institute managed to keep Tockwith down to a single goal lead by half- time but the league's new boys eventually ran out 4-1 winners.
Barmby Moor travelled to Copmanthorpe in Reserve B and Will Steel twice equalised for them before the home side eventually ran out 4-2 winners with goals from Gavin Mears (2), Paul Scurry and an own goal.
New Earswick enjoyed a 3-1 home win over Stamford Bridge with goals from Derrick Grant, John Conroy and Arthur Tegetmeier. Adam Hargreaves hit Stamford's only goal.
In Reserve C, Civil Service entertained Wheldrake at their new Kirk Hammerton base and drew 2-2.
The visitors netted a first-minute penalty but Service came back in the second half as goals by Alistair Burn and Dominic Barry earned them a point.
Hamilton Panthers had a fine 5-2 win at Thorpe United, catching the home side cold with a Steve Gaughan hat-trick and a fourth from Brad Dunn inside the first ten minutes. Kevin Taylor managed to pull one back and Andy Haigh scored again for Thorpe after the break but Dunn struck again to seal the win.
Moor Lane won 2-1 at Riccall for whom Sean Bugg struck a second half goal.
Reserve D newcomers Norwich Union enjoyed success in their first league game as Paul Litster and Nick Henshaw bagged goals at Stillington to give them a 2-1 win. Dave McCafferty scored for the home side.
