Sheffield's Shaun Tarplett had rounds of 71 and 66 to edge out Bradford's Andrew Town's consistent 69 68 after both men finished with a score of 137.
Steve Pybus carded 71 and 67 for 138 for third place.
Tarplett's efforts helped Sheffield home by seven strokes from Bradford with a total of 862. East Riding were third on 877, followed by Leeds 879, Halifax-Huddersfield 900, York 902 and Teesside 909.
The Harrogate team were disqualified.
Mason was backed up in the York team by Pike Hills ace Martin Brown and Stuart Parkin, from Malton and Norton, who both carded rounds of 72 and 73 for a two-round total of 145.
The other York team scores were Steve Dunn (Fulford) 74-81-155, Neil Thompson (Scarthingwell) 77-80-157 and Matthew Lord (Fulford) 82-79-161.
The powerful Sheffield line-up had also got the better of York in their Inter-Union encounter at Wath.
The South Yorkshire side won 26-10 with Brown and Mason recording victories in the singles over Richard Jones (Wath) and Andrew Bradley respectively.
Pike Hills' Adrian Lount squared his match with Sean Needham (Sickleholme).
York had done better in the foursomes, Mason and Brown beating Jones and Bradley 2 and 1 while Jim Batt (Heworth) and Jonathan McNutt (Pike Hills) outgunned Rotherham pairing Neil Walker and Richard Bee 4 and 3.
Lount and Neil Thompson finished all square with Needham and Martin Haddock (Wheatley).
