CARDBOARD cutouts are continuing to cause a stir in York.
As reported in the Evening Press, Jordan's cut-out kept getting pinched from Yates's Wine Bar.
And now a figure of David Beckham is getting punched.
The life-size cutout of the England skipper is on display at Borders Booksellers, in Davygate, York, for a charity auction so that one lucky winner can take David home for good. But some customers are not so impressed. Miles Watts, 29, who works at the shop, said some people had tried to attack the figure.
He said: "A few people have come in and punched him. He doesn't seem to have sustained any damage, though."
Gavin Teasdale, marketing and events co-ordinator at Borders, said no explanation had been offered for the attacks. He said: "I think it's an old Manchester United thing - they were so successful, people just hated them. Proceeds from the auction will go to SNAPPY, the York charity for special needs children.
