THERE has never been any arrogant self-belief with Starsailor -confidence in the songs on their debut Love Is Here, yes, but no bragging about their imminent world domination.
Despite such confidence Starsailor must have been stunned at the album's success, shifting more than a million and making its way into record collections of people aged nine to 90. Now they have to do it again, a real confidence test - and they've managed it.
Love Is Here quickly and somewhat inexplicably endeared itself to you, so does its follow up. There are stand-out tracks, the Phil Spector-produced single Silence Is Easy and the slightly out of character Four To The Floor, a tune which throws up the image of the band dropping their acoustic guitars while bored at rehearsal and heading into Chorley to get wrecked.
For the most part, the album, like its predecessor, gives a warm glow, akin to talking rubbish over a couple of cans with your mates. Good for the soul.
