WHEN you put the pro-European argument to any set of rational tests it wins... as does the case for our membership of the Euro.
The facts are there for all to see. Independent economic research which has looked at the experience of France and Germany since joining the Eurozone has concluded that, if we were to join the common currency, there would be a boost to the UK economy of £16.5 billion a year.
That's equivalent to £700 a year for every family in the country.
In addition the message time and again from international business is that membership of the Euro would make them far more likely to bring new investment and new jobs into the UK.
The hard-headed rational case for the Euro must be promoted at every opportunity.
