YOUR article regarding the Mucky Duck public house in Pocklington quotes me as saying "if customers didn't like the name of the pub, they don't have to drink there" (September 16).
I'm sure my quote was "if customers didn't like the name of the pub, they would go elsewhere". However, trade has increased since the re-opening of the outlet, and we therefore strongly believe that the regular patrons have no objection to the new name.
The name change is intended as a fresh start for the pub, which now has an atmosphere of fun and entertainment (including the great conversation about its name). Our true regulars seem to agree.
