I HAVE long thought that the rulers of this city did not have a very high opinion of the intelligence of the populace. I now have indisputable proof.

Until recently my newspapers were collected by a woman who passed them on to a charity. Owing to illness she has now ceased to do this and I have reverted to the blue bags left fortnightly. However, these bags are not big enough to take 14 days supply of Telegraphs, Times and Independents - or, for that matter, 12 Evening Presses.

It is obvious therefore that the council regard us all as being tabloid readers.
