Nestle Rowntree entertained Copmanthorpe and looked to be on their way to their first win of the season when Roger Osborne volleyed them in front on 20 minutes after good work from the lively James Vine, who threatened the Copmanthorpe defence all afternoon.

The visitors shared much of the play, with veterans Alan Partington and Graeme Butcher showing the younger players a thing or two, but they were unable to create any clear cut chances.

With three minutes remaining the Rowntree defence lost concentration and Mark Gregory crashed home the equaliser from close range and to rub salt in the wound substitute Richard Seastron hit Copmanthorpe's winner from 18 yards in the last minute.

Dunnington had Ben Small's pace to thank as he beat the Wigginton Grasshoppers defenders to an Andy Rose pass and scored the only goal of the game.

Grasshoppers were denied a point in the last minute by a great save by the Dunnington 'keeper.

Tate & Lyle Selby managed their second win of the season, beating Rufforth 3-1 with goals from Danny Hewitt, Chris Harkin and Dave Reasbeck.

In division one South Bank kicked off with a 5-1 home win over St John's College, two of Mark Bellah's four goals coming in the first ten minutes. A goal Mick Horsfield goal kept the students in contention in the first half.

Belleh increased South Bank's lead on the hour and Mark Knowles made sure of the points soon after. Belleh then hit his fourth with five minutes remaining.

Haxby Town won 3-1 at newly promoted Hamilton Panthers. Chris Dyson scored the only goal of the first half just before the break, but with five minutes of the second half gone Paul King equalised for the Panthers.

Some 15 minutes from the final whistle Gavin Young edged Haxby back in front and Dyson sealed the points with his second strike with five minutes. But he missed out on a hat trick when he failed to convert a penalty.

Post Office won 2-0 at Riccall with first half goals from Mike Heels and Neil Holmes.
