Fears that Thirsk's race meeting tomorrow could be the target of another jockeys' boycott, similar to the one which caused yesterday's Sandown fixture to be abandoned, have subsided.
Thirsk's fixture, the last one of their season, and also Beverley's meeting on Wednesday was being targeted a few days ago by jockeys in their dispute over the Jockey Club's ban on them using mobile phones in the weighing room at racecourses.
But Philip Robinson, leader of the jockeys' campaign against the Jockey Club restrictions, said that no further boycotts are expected this week.
He added that it was 90 per cent certain that the dispute is heading to court.
Kevin Darley, one of the main spokesmen for the jockeys over the Jockey Club's new strict rules about the use of mobiles on racecourses, looks set for a profitable afternoon on one of his local courses.
The Sheriff Hutton-based rider can land the Rogan's Seat Maiden Stakes aboard Son Of Halling.
In the frame in both his starts to date, Declan Daly's colt has an excellent opportunity here of making it third-time-lucky.
My Nap vote is awarded to Blues Princess in the Jay Jopling Birthday Handicap over six furlongs.
Richard Fahey's three-year-old, confined to two outings this season, ran well in the latest of them at Haydock when seventh of 15 to Blackheath in a warm, all-aged handicap over five furlongs.
Tomorrow's extra distance and taking on her own age-group should benefit Blues Princess.
Jamie Spencer, on a high after his brilliantly-executed St Leger success on Brian Boru at Doncaster on Saturday, is fancied to land the Pinnacle Racing Maiden Stakes on Great Exhibition.
A promising colt, who fillied the frame on his debut, Great Exhibition is trained in Newmarket by David Loder.
At Yarmouth, Fort McHenry is selected to complete a hat-trick of wins in the Tote Credit Club Sprint Handicap. Neville Callaghan's three-year-old is in tremendous form. Nicky Mackay, one of the apprentice 'finds' of the season, takes the mount and reduces his weight by 5lb.
