ALAN Smith will receive his Player of the Season award at the Supporters Club's annual dinner and dance, at Elland Road, on Saturday, November 1.
The Leeds and England striker won the award despite playing out of position, wide on the right, and scoring just three Premiership goals and nine in all competitions last season.
Manager Peter Reid's decision to play him in the attack from the start of this season has already paid off with goals against Newcastle and Spurs, and Smith says: "I am much happier to be back up front because I see it as my best position.
"I was willing to help out by playing wide on the right but I was pleased to be switched into the attack for the last couple of months last season and I've enjoyed playing there again this time."
Despite his popularity with the fans it is the first time Smith has won the Supporters Club award.
