Oasis Dream, who produced a brilliant display of sprinting at York last month to win the Nunthorpe Stakes, can reinforce his reputation by following-up in the Stanley Leisure Sprint Cup at Haydock tomorrow.

John Gosden's colt has nine rivals in this £225,000 showpiece race, including Airwave, who promises to be his biggest danger, and Ryedale hopes Fayr Jag and Somnus, who have claims of reaching the frame in their first crack at Group 1 company.

In need of the race on his reappearance in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, Oasis Dream underlined his prowess when winning the following month's July Cup at Newmarket from Choisir, the King's Stand winner.

A red-hot favourite to follow-up in the Nunthorpe Stakes on Knavesmire, Oasis Dream won in impressive style.

Admittedly, he was opposed by less-than-worthy rivals, but his time was only four-hundredths of a second outside Dayjur's five-furlong record.

Tomorrow's step up to six furlongs should suit Oasis Dream even better.

Although I expect that he will have a tough task I fancy him to confirm his superiority over the multi-talented Airwave, who was third to him in the July Cup and who had a setback before York which caused her to miss the Nunthorpe and which has interrupted her preparation for this event.

Great Habton, near Malton, stablemates Fayr Jag, who dead-heated for first place in the Wokingham Handicap at Royal Ascot, and Somnus, twice a winner this season, finished first and second in a race at Newmarket last time.

Tim Easterby's pair step-up in class tomorrow, but this talented duo should fare well and can figure in the prize money.

Viewforth, a reformed character since moving to the care of Ian Semple, is napped to land the Freephone Stanley Be Friendly Handicap in the hands of Robert Winston.

At Thirsk, the progressive Tip The Dip, a stablemate of Oasis Deam, is my fancy in the Tote Scoop6 Hambleton Cup.

Robert Havlin's mount, a winner last time, has run only twice and looks a progressive campaigner. He can overcome his lack of experience to clinch this £10,000 prize.

The useful Blonde Streak (4.05) and the speedy Petana (5.35) are also worthy of attention.

Pat Eddery, in his final season, can play a starring role at Kempton. The 11-times champion jockey has first-rate chances on Latin Review in the Coral Sirenia Stakes, and on the hat-trick seeking First Charter in the Coral September Stakes.

Add to that pair, an interesting-looking newcomer in Border Castle (4.15) and a recent winner in Skye's Folly (5.20) and the 51-year-old Eddery can surely enjoy a profitable afternoon.
