YORK RACES is to hold an additional Saturday of action next July.
Knavesmire is to host racing on Saturday, July 24 - a fortnight after the traditional July meeting featuring the John Smith's Cup.
York still has 15 days racing in 2004, having reduced their October meeting from three days to two.
The July 24 date will probably be featured on Channel 4, even though it clashes with the Ascot meeting featuring the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Redcar, who would have raced on July 24 have moved their fixture to Easter Monday.
Wetherby will have an extra Sunday next season. Their Easter Monday fixture will now be held on Sunday, April 25, the opening day of the 2004/05 jumps season.
